I want to represent FS FOCUS in the best possible way and further stimulate to be the bridge between companies and students interested in finance, accounting and controlling. The main goal for the upcoming year revolves around “integration.” I would like to see more communication, coordination and cooperation at several levels starting internally, with the active members and SIGMA Investments. Further, I hope to maintain relations and integrate further with the SBE and the other associations within FAME. Also on a national level, I want to stimulate more cooperation within the FAN. And last but not least, more awareness and integration of FS FOCUS with the students. As Chairman I feel responsible to maintain and work further on the basis that has been laid out for me throughout the past years, and I am thankful for having the chance to do so. .
Vangy Villanueva - Secretary
secretary@fsfocus.nlI am Vangy Villanueva, 22 years old and born in Eindhoven. I will fulfill the role of secretary at FS FOCUS the upcoming year. Currently I am finishing my Bachelor in International Business with a specialization in Information Management and Accounting. My interest goes to IT and therefore I plan to start with the Master International Business - Information Management in February 2011 at the Maastricht University as well. This will be the first year that I am active at FS FOCUS, however I have participated in activities of FS FOCUS before which I enjoyed very much. For me, the function of secretary at FS FOCUS means a year of hard work, meeting new people, putting my theoretical knowledge into practice and enjoying every bit of it. I believe the upcoming year will be dynamic, full of challenges and ofcourse a lot of fun. It will certainly be an unforgettable experience!
Eline Sijbesma - Treasurer
treasurer@fsfocus.nlI’m Eline Sijbesma and will be the treasurer within FS FOCUS board ’10- ’11. I’m 21 years old and am currently doing my Masters in Strategy and Innovation . I plan to do the Finance Master afterwards! Last year I went on exchange to Queen’s University in Kingston, Canada, where I’ve studied from September 2008 till April 2009. After coming back I became treasurer of the Maastricht Business Days. I truly enjoyed last year and got to know many (new) FOCUS members. Because the atmosphere was so good and because I felt I was up for another challenge I decided to apply for the position of treasurer in the board of FS FOCUS. I’m looking forward to our board year and will put all my time and effort into making it another successful year for FOCUS! I hope to see you all soon during activities or in the Preuverij! Eline
Jens Keulers - Commissioner Activities
activities@fsfocus.nlMy name is Jens Keulers and I will fulfill the position of Activities within the FS FOCUS board for the academic year 2010-2011. I am 22 years old and I am finishing my Bachelor in International Business Economics. During my Bachelor I spent an amazing and interesting half a year abroad in Sweden. After the summer I will start my Master Accounting. I got to know FOCUS through an activity for accounting students. At the time that I was up for a new challenge, it was this great experience which made me decide to become an active member of FOCUS. Through the organization and participation in several FOCUS events in the past year and the great experiences flowing from that, I decided to apply for a board position. My goal for the upcoming year as commissioner activities is to maintain and strengthen the relationship with, and especially between, our active members. They are the building blocks of our association and without them no events could be organized. I am really looking forward to the upcoming year. I am certain that it will be an unforgettable board year with lots of challenges and fun. Hope to see you soon!
Kirstie Panis - Commissioner External Relations
externalrelations@fsfocus.nlMy name is Kirstie Panis and during the academic year 2010-2011 I will fulfill the position of External Relations within the FS FOCUS board. I am 20 years old and just finished my bachelor in International Business with a major in Finance and a minor in Accounting. In September I will start my master in Finance. I spent my study abroad semester in Australia, where I had an amazing time. I met great people, experienced different cultures and saw beautiful parts of the country during my travels. After a period of acclimatization back in the Netherlands, I noticed that I was up for a new challenge. Therefore, I applied for a board position within FS FOCUS. I am very much looking forward to the upcoming year. I expect to learn a lot and I hope to get a better idea of in which type of company I would like to work in the future. As commissioner External Relations, my goal is to create on optimal connection between students and companies. In addition, I aim to maintain and reinforce the valuable relationship with our existing sponsors and to catch the interest of new sponsors. I am convinced that the upcoming year will be a great one and I hope to see you all soon!
Bart Smeets - Commissioner PR and Magazine
pr@fsfocus.nlI am Bart Smeets and I am going to fulfill the position of commissioner Public Relations and Magazine for the FS FOCUS board 2010/2011. I was born in a small town called Vijlen, where I still live. So for my exchange I wanted to go as far as possible; to Newcastle, Australia. Where I had an amazing time, learned a lot and had the chance to travel around the beautiful Australia and New Zealand. My study abroad semester was very maturing for me, and at the time I got back to Maastricht I felt that I was ready for a new challenge. Because I was approaching the end of my studies, I felt the need to explore my future. And this is where FS FOCUS came into my live. FOCUS offered the perfect events for me, including the NKD and the Big4 cycle, which gave me a good possibility to explore what I wanted. After these events I was confident about choosing a master in accounting which I will start in September. But during these events I also got to know the association better. I saw how their events successfully linked students with companies and off course the great atmosphere during these events! When the possibility to become a board member turned up, I even saw a greater challenge. Full filling a board position would give me the possibility to develop myself further and it puts me also in the position to communicate the FOCUS events to the students. I have seen how enriching these events are myself, but students have to be aware of them. As Commissioner Public Relations and Magazine my aim is to increase the ‘FOCUS-awareness’ of students so they can maximally benefit from our events. And I am off course looking forward to the various social events, looking forward to meet you all!
